The Creational Guild Story

I’ve created this guild because my research & experiences have taken me to places so marvelous & unexpected, I just have to share them with you.

We are at the forefront of an evolution in education – our children (yours & mine) are different which means old ideas, methods & mindsets simply don’t apply to them.

We can’t attempt to duplicate the educations which we received, those which are being offered in schools or even found in commercial curriculae – then sit back, cross our fingers & hope they work….

they will not !

Our children have special needs, they need MORE space & time to experiment, they crave big challenges & long periods of rest. Our children are here to change the world & they know it.

But, are we willing to admit it?

Our work is so vastly IMPORTANT & yet, we only have a few, short years to do it….

We have already taken an important step by deciding to keep our children home with us so we can design their learning & living experiences. Intuitively, we know it’s best for them (even though we often get conflicting messages…)

We must stand up for them & acknowledge why they chose us to be their mothers. We are here to guide them so they can stay creative, let their natural brilliance shine & exquisitely handcraft their world –

bravely following their passions because it’s the ONLY way they know how to live.

I’ve devoted more than 45 years(!) of my life to creating art, designing inspiring spaces & making beautiful things. For 25 years, I’ve been raising children and during the last 13, I’ve immersed myself in the world of home-education – carefully crafting our Creational lifestyle around homemaking, nurturing, learning, playing, making, exploring, celebrating & resting.

Hundreds & hundreds of hours have gone into researching the work of Rudolf Steiner, the neuroscience of how children’s brains grow, the incredible benefits of handwork & how they all fit neatly together. I’ve searched high & low to find a wild & wonderful mix of exciting books and resources. I’ve even devised a creative addition to S.T.E.M. courses – H.A.N.D. courses!

Tapestry Teaching Framework

During the last 3 years, I’ve developed my unique Tapestry Teaching framework which allows you to customize any curriculum (or build your own) & move beyond micro-managing your child’s education towards a freer, deeper, more trusting place. A place where you feel secure teaching outside-the-box, that’s overwhelm-free and FUN.

Where you not only want to teach your child but actually LOVE it!

Since we can’t follow a formula or use a just-add-water approach in our homeschools, we need each other to share what we’ve learned, where we’re running into challenges & how to find creative ways around them.

I chose a guild as a container for my work because by definition,
it is a place of learning, sharing, community, professionalism, challenge & commitment to excellence.

As a homeschooler,
you are simultaneously the master AND the student.

On one hand, you’re teaching your child, while on the other, you’re learning a new way of living – how to organize your time, direct your energy, hone your skills, find resources & keep your house running smoothly (& maybe a business, too!).
